Personal Statement
One of the biggest goals that I've set for myself throughout my water polo career is having the opportunity to be able to play at the collegiate level. Throughout my high school water polo career, my teammates and I have successfully competed against higher level teams and have consistently been the front-runner in our league. I am proud of the fact that I've been able to contribute to the success of my varsity team since freshman year. I was able to successfully compete at this level of water polo because of my speed, craftiness, selflessness and my overall high polo IQ.
One of my greatest strengths is my "coachability". I have been playing water polo since I was 7 years old, and have had many coaches during that time. Being able to not only grasp what my coaches are teaching, but also the game concepts behind those drills, helps me to take that information and use it immediately in the next game. If my coach ( High School, Club, ODP, JO) needs me to break down a speedy counter, initiate our counter, hustle back to guard hole or incorporate a new motion 6 v 5, I will make that happen.
If given the opportunity to play at the college level, I know that I will continue to work hard not only in the pool but also in the classroom. I fully anticipate the degree of difficulty that comes with juggling water polo and academics, but I know that I'm ready for that challenge. I appreciate your consideration in allowing me the ability to continue to play the sport that I love. Thank you, and I hope to hear from you soon.
