Personal Statement
I have been playing water polo since I was 8 years old. I am 6'2, and 186 lbs and I play both attacker and set defense. Since I started water polo in the third grade, I have loved every aspect of the game. I began swimming when I was 7, and two years later the only natural next step was water polo. Once I started playing I never wanted to stop. Other than set defense, I am a large post up threat and a great outside shooter. I take huge pride in my defense and try to go through every game without my man scoring on me. At practice, I work hard to improve my skills and make sure the rest of the team is doing so as well. In games, I am always vocal and directing traffic, so that we work well as a team.
When I am not in the pool, I still love to be outdoors. On weekends, I love to get out and play soccer or volleyball with friends. I went on a fantastic trip to Africa this past summer, and will be going to Thailand this winter. I enjoying skiing, wake boarding, and surfing as well.
In school, I am an AP and honors student and I make sure I get everything done in the classroom, so I am able to put my all into water polo. I am not completely sure of my field of study yet, but I am very interested in business and medical sciences.
