Blake Hokkanen '14 Recruiting Profile

I am interested in playing with a highly competitive college water polo team. I play year-round club water polo, as well as high school varsity water polo and swim team. There is not an “off season” for me.  I have been actively involved with US Water Polo's ODP program for the last 3 years and was selected for the National Cadet team in 2011, the National Youth team in 2012 and most recently was selected for 1995 Junior National team.  My strengths as a player are my ability to make quick decisions and anticipate the next play.  I have a strong pass and shot, as well as being quick in the water, with a 21 second 50 free and a 48 second 100 free. This allows me to  play every position well.  I believe I have not neared my potential as a player and will improve exponentially given an opportunity to play on a highly competitive team.  I am a team player and can fit into any role that the coach deems best for the team.  I am a leader in and out of the water. I am interested in studying either business or marine biology.  Water polo has dramatically changed my life and is my passion. This is why I am such a disciplined and hardworking person every day.
