Caleb Degler '18 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Caleb Degler and I am the varsity goalie for the Wilson High School water polo team. Our team is currently rebounding from a young year, in which all players on the starting lineup were juniors, like me. We hope to come back and be the best team in Pennsylvania next year. As an athlete, I would love to play water polo in college. My personal aspirations are to play Division I, although Division II, III and club are still acceptable. 

I have an unending love for water polo and I strive to be the best that I can be. I come to every practice with the mindset that I can always work harder than I did the last practice. Last season was my first year as a water polo goalie and I had achieved third team all-state. In the future, I hope to achieve first team all-state and to be the best high school goalie in the state.

As a student-athlete, my education is undoubtedly the most important thing I have to focus on. Between balancing morning practices and evening practices, I still find time in between to keep my grades up. Ever since my freshman year, my GPA and class rank has continued to move up, and I expect it to do so until I graduate. If schoolwork ever becomes too overwhelming, I step back and take a day off of practice to get back on track. As much as I love water polo, I can't make it into a career after college.
