Hello! My name is Edward Goodwin, and I have been playing Water Polo for almost three years. I am currently playing with the Arlington Ball Under club team; last summer, I was part of the Naval Academy team at the Junior Olympics. Although I started relatively late in the spring of ninth grade, I have come a long way since then. When I first started, I couldn't play for more than one quarter a game, and had trouble with basic fundamentals such as dribbling the ball and treading water. Fast forward to this summer, and you will see that my game has vastly improved. I have mastered the fundamentals and a multitude of advanced plays, such as press defense, M-drop, and first and second wave counterattacks.
I am a great candidate for your team due to my coachability, in-water awareness, and teamwork skills. The latter is what separates me from most other recruits. I look to make safe passes before unreliable shots, and I generally have more assists than goals.
My main goal for college is a great education and degree. However, playing water polo is a close second. If I had the chance to go to a school that suits me academically and where I could also play water polo, I would take that opportunity in a heartbeat.
