I joined NCSA in November of 2012, bringing more than 20 years of coaching experience at both the college and high school ranks. After graduation from college, I taught and coached at three high schools in the Duluth, Minnesota, area before embarking on my first college coaching assignment at Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania where I coached the defensive secondary in 1997. In 1998, I returned to the upper Midwest after being appointed the defensive line coach at South Dakota State in Brookings, South Dakota. In 1999, I moved on to St. Cloud State University in Minnesota, coaching the defensive secondary. From 2000 to 2002, I was the running backs coach/recruiting coordinator at the University of North Dakota, helping them win the Division II National Championship in 2001 beating Grand Valley State 17-10 in the title game in Florence, Alabama. I returned to the high school ranks in 2003 at Rosemount High School in Rosemount, Minnesota, and then at the Academy of Holy Angels in Richfield, Minnesota, in 2005, where I helped the Stars get to the 2005 Minnesota State Championship game, losing in overtime to Mahtomedi 27-26. From there, I returned to the college ranks, becoming the defensive coordinator at Hamline University in St. Paul, Minnesota, in 1998, where I implemented a 3-4 defensive scheme that allowed 14 points less per game, gave up 90 yards less a game, and reduced the number of touchdown passes against by 13 from the previous season. In 2010, I returned to my alma mater of the University of Minnesota-Duluth where I was appointed the linebackers coach. My final coaching stop was at Nease High School in Ponte Vedra, Florida, from 2011 to 2012, where I served as the defensive coordinator. Originally from Rowayton, Connecticut, I played high school football in Minnesota. Collegiately, I played at the University of Minnesota, Duluth, in the defensive secondary and graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in secondary social studies. I also earned my MEd from the University of North Dakota. I currently reside in Pompano Beach, Florida.
