Many high school basketball players dream of hitting 1000 career points and for most, this goal is well out of reach. Not for Nate Perry, a 2010 Grad from Hempfield Area High School in Pennsylvania. He surpassed this goal in January. The 6’3” combo guard finished the regular season as the WPIAL’s 3rd leading scorer, averaging 24 points per game.
Perry is a natural to the game, as he has been playing organized basketball since he was four years old and has played AAU since the 3rd grade. His hard work shows and he has been the starting varsity point guard since he was a freshman.
As Perry states, “I am in love with basketball!”
Who wouldn’t be with all he has accomplished and he still he has so much before him.
Perry not only gets it done on the court, he takes care of business in the classroom as well.
He says “I have made the honor roll every year since 9th grade. My GPA varies from an 87%-90%. I am looking to go to a college/university that has good academics and athletics. I am a team player and I will do whatever it takes to win and be successful, and also make my team better. Every time I step in the classroom/court I will give it my all!”
Keep an eye out for Nate Perry, as he will become a well known name during the years to come.
