Valerie Zamora
Mountain Vista HS
Highlands Ranch, CO
Valerie Zamora, a 2008 Graduate out of Mountain Vista High School in Colorado, should feel proud that she was not only a good teammate, but that she was coachable, a leader, and always gave 110% while on the court.
Zamora finished her high school career with 1,125 points. Zamora was a four-time letter-winner, two-time team captain and 2-time Team MVP. Zamora holds several MVHS girl’s basketball single season records: 354 Total Points; 15 PPG, 45 3FG Made, 71 FT Made, and 105 Assists. Zamora also led the varsity squad as a sophomore, junior and senior in these same categories. Zamora holds the single game scoring record with 28 points, while only playing one minute of the fourth quarter.
At the end of the regular season Zamora was in the Top 15-20 in scoring in the State 5A and the Top 5-10 in the Continental League. The Continental League has won the State Tournament for the past 8 years. Zamora has been recognized as an All-League player as a sophomore, junior and senior. Zamora was also one of only five girls selected to represent MVHS as an honoree for the National Girls and Women in Sports Day.
As Zamora enters the final stages of her recruiting process, we know that the college/university that gets such a well-rounded student athlete is very fortunate.
