Laura Burke is a 2009 graduate from Derby High School in Derby, Kansas. Burke currently maintains a 3.88/4.0 GPA and scored a 23 on her ACT. She is an Honor Roll student and has received awards such as the Distinguished Scholar Award, National Honor Society and the Kansas Honor Scholar (Top 10% of Class). She is also involved in Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Burke intends to major in Elementary Education.
Burke is the number one runner on the Varsity Team for the Panthers for the past three years as well as being a two time captain. She has attended camp at the University of Kansas the past two years. Her 4k time is 15:37 where she was able to shave 14 seconds off from her junior year at 15:51. She is a four time Varsity Letter winner and a 3x 6A State Qualifier. Burke has narrowed her decision down to Wichita State University and Fort Hayes University. Which ever school she decides on will be very happy to get an outstanding individual in Laura Burke!
