When there are two great performers in the same family, it’s hard to choose just one for appreciation. This is the case with Jay and Bobby McIllece who are junior distance runners from Cedar Park, Texas.
Jay and Bobby have been running for their goals since they can remember. Always pushing each other to succeed. Jay focuses on all events from the mile to the 5k to the 2k steeple. Jay was a regional qualifier as a sophomore in cross last year and has a current personal record of 15:28 this year. His best mile and two mile times are 4:45 and 9:28 respectively. Bobby also qualified for regionals last year and is running sub 16’s this year in cross country. His focus on the mile and two mile have earned him success on the track as well. His personal records are 4:28 and 9:32.
Both boys are striving to top those performances junior year. They are aiming high for their collegiate plans and would love to attend a prestigious DI school to continue their running careers.
