It is rare for an underclassman to make a huge impact for a high school team, but Luke Fontaine is doing exactly that. Luke, a 5’11’’ sophomore from Augusta, ME, is set to have a breakout track season. As a freshman, Luke was the High School Track Runner of the Year and acted as the team co-captain. Luke has already set the high school record for the indoor 3200M this year with a (9:58), which earned his a 3rd place finish at Indoor Championships.
Luke has also been competing in USATF events for several years. He placed 7th at Nationals in Walnut last year in the 3k and also competed at Cross Country nationals in Spokane. This year, Luke has his eyes set on Nike Nationals and a top finish at USATF Nationals in the mile and 3k.
So far in his academic career, Luke has held a strong 91.5/100 GPA and is already taking honors courses. He plans to study pharmacy in college.
