Mallory Pope
Selinsgrove Area High School
Selinsgrove, PA
This is the time of year when seniors are in the process of making a decision and scheduling final visits, which is all too familiar for 2009 grad Mallory Pope from Selingsgrove, PA. Pope is a speedy 5’1” midfielder and forward, who has already made a few visits.
Pope knew recruiting involved getting as much experience as possible, so she attended multiple practices, tournaments, camps, and festivals. From her exposure she has heard from an abundance of colleges at all levels. To name a few: Lafayette, East Stroudsburg, Temple, Robert Morris, Colgate and Syracuse.
Pope has the added advantage of knowing what she wants. Pope wrote, “I am looking for a school that challenges me in the classroom and on the field. I am looking for a school with a competitive field hockey program and a great academic reputation.”
It is obvious that Pope sticks to her goals, as she has maintained a 3.9 GPA and sits among the top of her class. On the field she has received numerous accolades, such as an All-Star and All-League.
For field hockey, the signing period starts this February 4th and we know that decision time is coming soon. Pope will surely make the right decision and we look forward to her growth in college.
