The NCAA Clearinghouse evaluates athletes' academic records and determines if they are eligible to participate at a Division I or II college as freshmen student athlete. The clearinghouse primarily looks at your core GPA and SAT or ACT score.
The best time to register with the Clearinghouse is after you have completed your junior year but that does not mean that younger prospective student athletes shouldn't be thinking about the clearinghouse. All athletes need to make sure they are on track to take the minimum amount of core courses. Athletes should visit www.ncaaclearinghouse.net and look for the General Information page and look at both the Division I and II Eligibility Standards. You also need to click on List of Approved Core Courses to be sure you are taking the correct courses at your High School. Additional information on the clearinghouse is also posted on the website.
I hope everyone is having a productive summer and will be ready to hit the ground running in the Fall!
