NCSA caught up with football standout Wilson Sarver about his high school career and the opportunity to compete at the college level.
NCSA: What motivates you before a big game?
Sarver: My motivation is making the big block to free the RB for the winning touchdown. I eat pasta before every game.
NCSA: What are you looking forward to if and when you get the opportunity to play at the collegiate level?
Sarver: I am looking forward to telling my parents that I am starting at RT on Saturday afternoons instead of Friday nights.
NCSA: Why did you get involved in football?
Sarver: I like the contact and my father introduced the game to me.
NCSA: Tell us about your interactions with college coaches so far.
Sarver: The coaches have been impressed with my game film and they like my aggression and the way I am able to get down the field.
NCSA: How did your team do this season?
Sarver: My team was 2-8 and we lost four close games that we were winning at halftime. I had a make shifted line due to injuries.
NCSA: What are your goals - athletically, academically and in your community - for the rest of the school year?
Sarver: I want to put on another 20 pounds of muscle and improve my speed and foot quickness. I want to get nothing below a "B" on my report card and I want to continue helping with my church's thrift store to raise funds for another mission trip.
NCSA: Tell us about what you've learned since being with NCSA.
Sarver: It is a long and challenging process to find the right school for me as a football player and student. It takes a lot of dedication and hard work to make it to the next level.
