Omoregie Uzzi
Chamblee High School
Chamblee, GA
Soft spoken giant Omoregie Uzzi has reeled in a number of early offers. He is not a big talker, but he lets his actions speak for him. He is a versatile lineman with great grades and a lot of ability. Uzzi is taking everything in right now and just being patient with the recruiting process. Coaches have been to the school, coaches have made calls, coaches send text messages, and Uzzi is just taking it all in. He fills us in on recruiting right here.
"I think I have eight offers now," said Uzzi. "Auburn, Alabama, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Duke, Virginia, Ole Miss, and Stanford have offered me. I think that is it."
A number of other schools are showing big Uzzi some major attention too.
"Central Florida has been talking to me a lot and Florida, Vanderbilt, and Ohio State have come by the school to check on me. Those are the main schools showing the most attention that have not offered me yet."
Those aren't the only programs to visit Chamblee High School since the evaluation period began.
"Coach Richt (Georgia Head Coach) and Coach Gailey (Georgia Tech) have been by and that means a lot," said Uzzi. "The head coach coming by really shows me that they want me. I was impressed with that."
"Louisville, Central Florida and some others have stopped by also. I know some more are coming out to watch spring practice the next two weeks too."
Is this 6-foot-3, 291-pound lineman ready to name a leader or top five?
"No sir, I am not sure of anything right now," said Uzzi. "I am still waiting to see who is going to offer and everything first before doing any of that. I just want to be patient, see what offers come in, and then go from there. I am not sure when I will be ready to name a leader or anything right now."
Uzzi is just taking his time with the process and he is getting a look at many of the schools that are in pursuit of him.
"I have visited Georgia, Georgia Tech, Florida, Auburn, Alabama, and Duke so far," he said. "I just want to see the schools, learn as much as I can about them, and see what goes on there."
He will likely visit a few more campuses later this spring and summer, but he is not sure who yet at this point. When asked about a timeline for his decision, Uzzi said, "I am not really sure yet. I have not thought about it too much yet."
