Akil Sharp, an explosive running back from Las Vegas, has started to turn a lot of heads. Coming off a top performance at the Phoenix Nike Combine, college coaches are scrambling to find out everything they can about this talented back from Sierra Vista High School’s class of 2009.
At 5’9” and 191 lbs with a 4.5 in the 40, coaches don’t have to look far to discover the depths of Sharp’s talents. Recently at the Phoenix Nike Combine, Sharp put up a Sparq rating of 103.0, leading the entire pack and coming just shy of the all time record of 116.0.
As much as Sharp shines on the field, he tends to be an equally significant presence in the classroom, posting a 4.275/4.0 GPA. As a 4-time Scholar Athlete who plans to major in pre-med, Sharp dedicates his free time tutoring and getting involved in community service.
College coaches shouldn’t have any problem finding a reason to extend offers this talented young man. Whether it’s based off his athletic performance or his academic performance, Akil Sharp is a sure thing.
