Willie Mobley Jr.
Eden Prairie HS
Eden Prairie, MN
Willie Mobley Jr. enters his senior season as the #9 rated defensive lineman in the country. A top recruit out of Eden Prairie, MN, Mobley has dominated his high school competition for the last two seasons, earning himself an All-State nod in both campaigns. While Mobley’s number one focus this season is to have another All-State performance and lead his team to a state title, recruiters are concentrated on making sure Mobley dawns their school colors in the fall of 2008.
At 6’3”, 265 lbs with a 4.8 in the 40, Mobley is a perfect blend of size and speed. Mobley recorded 11 sacks and 16 tackles for a loss during his junior campaign. This gained the interest of just about every college football program in the country. Presently Mobley has offers from 16+ division one schools, including Ohio State, Oklahoma, UCLA, and Wisconsin.
Although most student athletes would jump at the chance to play for one of these perennial power houses, Mobley has decided to take his time with his decision. While college coaches are chomping at the bits to get the attention of Mobley, he has decided to take a step back and look at the things that really matter when deciding on a school. Academics are extremely important to Mobley and his family, and they will play a huge part in his decision making process. Mobley commented, “I want to find a place where I can excel both on and off the field.” Willie Mobley Jr. will certainly have plenty of coaches willing to give him that opportunity.
