Glenview, IL
Most high school athletes have a goal of playing their sport at the next level. Chelsea Michalek is a prime example of knowing what it takes to achieve that goal. Michalek is a junior out of Loyola Academy in Illinois, whose aspiration is to play collegiate golf.
Michalek has been fine tuning her game on the course and as a result, she placed 13th out of 102 golfers at the 2007 IHSA state finals at Hickory Ridge, scoring a 75 and 77 in two days. She also understands the importance of tournament play, and she participates in numerous associations, such as the Future Collegiate World Tour.
It is quite impressive that Michalek can balance her golf game and continue to be involved in her community, all while remaining a leader in the classroom. She is a part of a service project called Life Be In It, and she upholds a 90 out of 100 grade point average. Chelsea Michalek is a soft spoken, well mannered, maturing young woman and is a student-athlete to watch.
