Ilana Friedman
Middleton HS
Middleton, WI
Goalies have a reputation for being a little edgy, but junior net-minder Ilana Friedman is following a straight path to success.
Friedman is a standout goalie from Middleton, Wisconsin who plays for the Madison Capitols of the Midwest Elite Hockey League (MWEHL), one of the premier girls hockey leagues in the country. Friedman plays for the U19 squad although she still has eligibility at the U16 level.
Friedman played boys hockey through her bantam year, and has attended camps and showcases such as the Brown University Festival and Prospects in Toronto where she was selected for the all-star team. In 2007 Friedman was named to the MWEHL U16 All-League 1st Team.
Despite her rigorous hockey schedule, Friedman maintains a 3.5/4.0 GPA at Middleton High School. She takes honors and AP courses and plays percussion in the school band. Friedman is also involved in school activities such as Jule’s Club, a drug awareness program, and the alliance to end homophobia.
Friedman is the complete package and has already attracted attention from top colleges and hockey programs across the Midwest and Northeast.
