Joel Samuels exemplifies what it means to be a student-athlete. Samuels is a 2008 grad who attends Warwick Valley High School in New Jersey.
Samuels has played competitive hockey for a number of years, and was recently named captain of the Warwick Valley Varsity team. At the recent Tri-County Truway Ice Classic Samuels was named offensive MVP. He also has experience playing for an AAA tournament team during the spring and summer.
In pursuit of his collegiate dream, Samuels spent last summer visiting college campuses and attended several hockey camps. To Samuels this seemed like a break, as he works diligently during the school year to maintain his 3.3/4.0 GPA, honor roll status and play competitive hockey.
All this hard work has not gone unnoticed, as Samuels has received interest from several ACHA hockey coaches. Samuels knows that the ACHA will be a perfect forum to mesh his studies with his skating.
Everyone at NCSA wishes Joel Samuels the best of luck as he moves closer to achieving his dream of playing college hockey.
