Moira Scanlon
St. Ignatius HS
Chicago, Illinois
Moira Scanlon has dominated the Illinois girl’s hockey scene and this year her talents will bring her to the east coast. She is heading to the North American Hockey Academy (NAHA) to study and play for one of the top U19 teams in preparation for a bright collegiate future.
Scanlon will leave behind St. Ignatius High School in Chicago, IL, but her mark remains. At St. Ignatius, she maintained a 3.95/4.0 GPA while taking honors and AP courses. She was also a member of the math team and she scored an impressive 32 on her ACT. The classroom was not the only place Scanlon excelled. She was a member of the Chicago Young Americans and also played for the St. Ignatius boy’s team. Scanlon was invited to the National Select Hockey Camp as a result of her fine play on the ice.
College coaches have certainly taken notice and Scanlon has several official visits scheduled for this fall. We wish her the best of luck at NAHA and are eager to hear where her skates will lead her next.
