Dartmouth College > Dartmouth Named One of Top Academic and Athletic Schools by National Collegiate Scouting Service

May 23, 2003

CHICAGO, ILL - Dartmouth College has been named one of the top academic and athletic schools in the nation, according to the National Collegiate Scouting Association, based in Chicago, Ill.

NCSA, a scouting service designed to help student-athletes identify and assess colleges best suited to them ranked Dartmouth sixth among its top 25 schools in the nation.

The criteria includes the most recent Sears Cup rank, US News and World Report rank and student-athlete graduation rates as the NCSA developed its "power rank" to help prospective student and parents evaluate the particular strengths of different universities.

The list includes many historically elite academic and athletic universities throughout the nation, regardless of division and conference.

Along with Division I Dartmouth, the other seven Ivy League schools are included in the top 25, along with Division III Middlebury in Vermont and Division II Assumption in Mass.
