Nichole Downing

Nichole Downing is the newest member of the University of Portland’s Women’s Soccer Team! Portland is an NCAA powerhouse and was tied for second place in the country for Division 1 schools at the time this story was written. Nicole is a junior and she will be joining the Pilots as a goalie in the fall of 2010.
Downing has been playing with the San Diego Surf of Cal South for the past three years and has attended a number of the nation’s top soccer tournaments. Such tournaments included Surf Cup and the Las Vegas Showcase. She was also a part of the National Pool for WNT, has participated with the California ODP Team and has had some international training that took place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Not only is Nichole a star on the field, she also excels in the classroom. She maintains a solid 4.0 GPA, is taking all honors and AP courses and is also a member of the National Honor Society. Nichole is the real deal and will be an excellent addition to Portland’s rising soccer program!
