The NCSA soccer department recently returned from Baltimore, Maryland where they were a presence at the National Soccer Coaches Association (NSCAA) Convention for the fourth year in a row. Alan Yost and Adrienne Treado, NCSA’s Men’s and Women’s Soccer Recruiting Coaches, were in attendance Thursday, January 17th through Saturday, January 19th. Yost and Treado manned the NCSA booth located in the exposition center.
The annual NSCAA Convention is a forum for coaches of all levels to increase their knowledge by attending soccer workshops, seminars and field sessions. Professional coaches, college coaches, high school and recreational coaches were all in attendance. Annual meetings were held for college conferences and youth soccer leagues and associations, and there were also awards banquets for High School All-Americans and college coach awards such as “Coach of the Year”. The Major League Soccer SuperDraft took place in the Convention Center Ballroom and Fox Soccer Channel continuously broadcasted the four-day event.
The purpose of NCSA’s visit to Baltimore was to build on our relationship with the thousands of college coaches that attend and elicit feedback on how the NCSA service helps them.
According to Treado, “we received hundreds of coach requests for specific types of players from Division I, Division II, Division III, NAIA and Junior College coaches. The convention was a complete success and I look forward to many more in the future!”
