The Patriot League, whose motto is, “Today’s Scholar-Athletes, Tomorrow’s Leaders,” always lives up to its reputation. The eight teams that make up the Patriot League are some of the toughest academic institutions in the nation and its student-athlete graduation rate ranks first among all Division I conferences.
The Patriot League’s student-athletes shine in the arena too and beginning in the fall of 2008 Holy Cross will be proud to boast that Elizabeth Shenk of Chatham, NJ, will be wearing a Crusader uniform.
Elizabeth, who goes by the nickname of “Biz” found a great fit in Holy Cross. She went on an official visit in September and made her final commitment in early January. Biz is going into her final season as a prep athlete, playing with her club team, Matchfit Magic this spring. She already left her mark on the high school field, earning NJGSCA All-State accolades as a junior and senior. She was also a member of the New Jersey Senior All-Star Team this fall.
Biz is looking forward to the athletic challenge, as well as the academic challenge that playing for Holy Cross brings.
