Alli Novak is a goalkeeper--but she is no goaltender. To be specific, the Naperville North senior is one of the area's best at keeping soccer balls out of the net. On the ice, however, she excels in putting pucks in the net. After giving up hockey for four years, she returned last winter with the Naper Valley Warriors club and collected 28 goals and 10 assists in 24 games. "It was so great to be back on the ice," she said.
Entering high school, she was torn between soccer and hockey. Soccer won, and it has worked out for Novak, who will play the sport at Illinois Wesleyan. In the Huskies' first nine games, she had nine shutouts, one a scoreless tie with No. 1 Waubonsie Valley. Reprinted from Chicago Tribune.
