lthough Kyle DeLeon’s main sport is soccer, Kyle’s involvement in athletics extends far outside the chalk lines of the pitch. Besides playing outside midfield for the Chelsea SC BU17 Blue Team in the Coast Soccer League Premier Division, the left-footed Deleon also runs cross country for his high school, The Lutheran High School of Orange County. He finished 12th place in the Southern California DIII States in 2006 and even has sparked the interest of some collegiate cross country coaches. Not only that, but Kyle has competed at the Novi Iguaçu Futbol Club in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil the past two summers.
In between his running and soccer, Kyle still finds time to maintain a 4.3/4.0 Overall GPA. He plans to pursue a career in International Business or Engineering after his collegiate soccer career is over. For now though, he is focusing on the end of club soccer season and helping his high school cross country team finish in the top 10 in the state for the third straight year.
