Amanda Ashley, a focused player inside the circle, has led the Raiders of East Peoria to 18 wins and the second consecutive softball title in the Mid-Illini Conference and its first outright title.
Ashley is the Journal Star's softball Player of the Year for 2007. She was also listed as the HOI 19 News Player of the Week. She was a four-year starter and led the Mid-Illini Conference with 154 strikeouts and had the third-lowest ERA. She finished the season with four home runs and she had 19 RBIs. She finished with an outstanding season.
As a pitcher, her individual performances are what led the team to success. Ashley has been a dominating force, not only as a pitcher, but as a hitter, too. Her offense has been just as big of a contribution to the Raiders' success! Ashley will attend Lincoln Land Community College in the fall to play softball.
