Stevie Hughey is only a sophomore, but she's been well none for a while. In 2004, she set the area's 100 individual medley record in the 12-and-younger division. The fact that she's had to deal with this pressure has helped her become a team leader at a young age. Last season she won the Central Section championship in the 100m freestyle while swimming for Centennial High School. She had to transfer to Frontier High School, a new school this year, because the boundries were changed. She has served as a leader for a very young team this season. She currently holds Kern County's top time in the 100 free (54.81), 50 free (24.75) and 200 IM (2:12.32). Has her career progresses she will undoubtedly win many more championships and awards.
