There are few obstacles junior standout Saraina Hedgepeth cannot clear. It is actually no surprise considering she runs for one of the most recognized women’s track programs in high school athletics. Rio Mesa High School in California produced such greats as Angela Burnham, Marion Jones and Porchea Carroll. There is no doubt that Saraina is going to follow in their footsteps.
Entering her junior track season, Saraina has already earned countless honors during high school. She placed 3rd at CIF DII finals in the 100M and long jump as a sophomore. EPI sports named her the second fastest sophomore in California as well. She was also given the prestigious female track athlete of the year award. Saraina is highly competitive in USATF and AAU. Her 4x100M team won JO Intermediate Nationals. Saraina also qualified for Nationals in the 100M and 200M.
College life for Saraina will include a lot of studying and training as she is looking to pursue the highest level of both academics and athletics.
