Wheeler High School out of Marietta, GA is having a strong season this year with much thanks to Senior Shelby Hines. Shelby continues to run a pace ahead of the competition in the 200M, 400M and relay events. Shelby recently slashed her 400m PR from last year by two seconds, bringing her best time down to a (56.42 FAT). She was the regional runner-up in the 200M last year with a state qualification. She hopes to end her senior year on a high note with a few high state finishes. In addition to her high school competition, Shelby runs with Quicksilver Track Club.
Her determination doesn’t stop on the track either. Shelby holds a solid 3.48/4.0 GPA in high school and pushes herself academically with challenging classes. Even with her tough course load, Shelby sets aside time for numerous extracurricular activities including yearbook, SGA, and LEAD.
Shelby is still considering her options for college next year, but has gained a lot of interest over the past few months with several full-ride offers on the table.
