Aleah Hayes
Ozark High School
Ozark, MO
Ozark High School (Ozark, MO) senior Aleah Hayes has overcome a big hurdle to earn the Impact Athlete of the Week. Hayes, who has been a very successful setter throughout high school, tore her ACL in early 2008. For a volleyball player, this is one of the worst times to have this injury because the large part of recruiting for DI programs happens during junior club season. Thankfully, Aleah has had plenty of time for exposure through club. She will be heading into her ninth year of club this winter with Springfield Jrs.
As a junior, Hayes was awarded All-conference and 2nd team all-Southwest Missouri (4A) helping lead her team to a state quarterfinal appearance. She has come back this high school season even better on the court. Hayes currently leads the state and the nation in assists/game (12.5) according to Maxpreps.com.
In addition to her outstanding court performance, Hayes is also leading the pack in academics. Aleah has a perfect 4.0/4.0 GPA and is currently ranked first in her class of over 300 students. Aleah is still considering different college options, but with her consistent performance she won’t be on the market long.
