Gilberto Camacho
Washington Union High School
Fresno, CA
The Fresno County Board of Supervisors honored a local wrestler who recently made high school history.
Gilberto Camacho is the first student ever from Washington Union High School to take home a state championship title.
In only his second season, Camacho went undefeated until he went to the national championships, where he took second place.
He ended his season with a record of 54 wins and one loss. He won every tournament he entered, including the Masters, Divisionals, Lemoore Bash, CIT in Morro Bay and the Western Invitational in Modesto. The word: "He only gave up like 23 points the entire year. He did everything well. He just dominated." -- Washington coach Ryan Stockton
