Balbir Khalsa, from West Bloomfield, Michigan, began his college soccer search towards the middle of his junior year of high school. He made a profile, sent letters out, and got a few replies. He was hearing from mostly Division III colleges in Wisconsin, Ohio, and Michigan. Working together with NCSA really helped Balbir narrow down his options and speed up his recruiting process.
In the end, Balbir had several options but chose Oglethorpe University. He will follow up with the other coaches he was recruited by, such as Albion and Kalamazoo, and thank them but let them know his decision.
Balbir is finishing up his last club season with the Birmingham Blazers. He attends West Bloomfield High School and scored a 31 on his ACT and a 1310/1600 on his SAT. Balbir has fabulous grades, but also spends a lot of time doing extracurricular activities, which made him very marketable as a recruit.
Oglethorpe cannot wait for Balbir to step onto the field come August 2008!
