College Attending: Wabash College
Andy Weeks is a former National Collegiate Scouting Association student-athlete who is now attending Wabash College. Weeks recently took some time to speak with NCSA about the realities of recruiting, putting aside his hopes of playing Division I baseball and ultimately finding the perfect college fit.
"It had its ups and downs for sure," said Weeks. "Some of the ups were getting contacted by colleges that I never knew existed and talking to great coaches from all over the country. Some of the downs were the constant pressure of college and the constant worry of, 'Am I a D-I, D-II, or D-III player,' while I was hearing from every division out there."
Weeks said that he thinks that NCSA created many opportunities for him.
"They practically handed me dozens of coaches' names and descriptions of what type of player they were looking for," said Weeks. "They introduced me to the college baseball program and how coaches look for athletes."
"I think that if I had not joined NCSA, I wouldn't have had a fraction of the options that I had towards the end of my decision. I had numerous D-I, D-II, and D-III options to choose from, and about 85% of those were directed to me by NCSA," said Weeks. "I would definitely recommend the NCSA program to anybody."
