The recruiting process is not for the faint of heart. There are opportunities available for talented athletes, but you have to be willing to play the numbers game and accept some rejection along the way. NCSA helped us recognize that we needed to extend our reach to schools that met our son's requirements and had a need for a player at his position. While we had a video clip and resume already prepared, NCSA polished the clip by highlighting our son, making it easier to follow him. Also, the website made it easier to initiate inquiries by guiding the coach to the link to view his qualifications and to see the clip. The NCSA also helped us be prepared. When the coaches asked for full game tapes, a critical next step in the recruiting process, we were able to get those out overnight because NCSA allowed us to have them ready to go.
I also believe that NCSA helped our son to prepare mentally for the recruiting process: how to handle phone calls every evening, keeping the interest of schools until a final decision was made and how to chat up your successes with coaches post game. I pulsed out a bi-weekly update to coaches who were recruiting our son. It included stats, player of the game awards and anything that showed off his skill set. The results were that he had several offers to choose from and has learned how to market himself and go through a lengthy process in order to achieve his lifelong goal. We are truly indebted to NCSA!
