Molly Walters - Columbia Union College
The NCSA has changed my life. I wanted to play college basketball…it has been my dream and goal since I was in the 2nd grade. I was determined to play and continue my career. When I was not getting any letters from coach’s I got a little worried and I was uneasy as I headed into my senior year of high school. I needed help; I didn’t know where to begin the recruiting process. So I did some research and I came across NCSA and my life was flipped upside down.
NCSA threw me in the right direction. Once my NCSA Scouting Report was up I immediately started to hear from college coaches from all over the United States. I was overwhelmed but I knew right there that I was going to play college ball. The work you put into the recruiting process is time consuming and stressful, but it is worth every minute and if you want to play on the next level you will do whatever it takes to get there.
The most challenging part of the recruiting process for me was making and receiving phone calls from coaches. I was always nervous but once I started to relax and get to know the coach it was smooth sailing from there. Every time I speak with a coach on the phone I am no longer nervous, there is just no need to be.
The best part about the recruiting process was just the experience of it. It is just a whole new world, you meet people who want to help you play on the next level, you get to meet people that you never thought you would meet, and also the NCSA gave me confidence that I never thought I could have. The NCSA impacted the recruiting process for me in so many ways. The NCSA gave me the tips, the questions, the coaching, the exposure I needed to make it to the next level.
When you are going through the recruiting process, go in with an open mind and let your guard down, be yourself, and have fun with it. I did all of that and I will be playing Division 2 basketball at Columbia Union College!
