My recruiting process has been a pleasant one. I filled out online questionnaires and sent emails to about 50 colleges. I only ended up hearing back from about 10. Out of the 10 about half were seriously interested. I didn't end up going to one of the five that I found through NCSA, but interacting with those five colleges truly helped me understand how to act, what to say, and what questions to ask when speaking with college coaches.
Contacting coaches was the hardest part of the process. I wasn't sure how to act on the phone, in person, or in a letter. NCSA really helped me fine-tune those skills and was there if I had any questions.
The best advice I could give to a new student-athletes is to be yourself. Just talk and act naturally, like you would with your friends and high school coaches and everything will turn out right.
