Alana Pazevic
Henry M Jackson High School
Mill Creek, WA
Alana Pazevic, a 5’7” sophomore from Mill Creek, Washington, is very active in researching and exploring colleges early to find that right fit for her future. Alana has spent a lot of time researching teams and calling college coaches. By being proactive this early it has allowed her some opportunities during the spring to take some unofficial visits and meet with some of the coaches on campus.
During a time when she was traveling for a swim competition in the California area, Alana was able to set up campus visits with several colleges and meet with the coaches at Pepperdine University and UCLA. From those coach meetings Alana was able to get some very valuable insight about the programs. According to Alana, “it was a very informative discussion and I learned a lot about their swimming program.”
Coming away from these visits Alana now has a better idea in the type of school and swim program she feels most comfortable with. Alana now is able to do more research on additional colleges with a more directive eye, seeking the things she knows she wants from the school.
Alana’s top events are in the sprint freestyle events as well as the 100 backstroke. She has achieved All-American status in her 100 Free (51:75) event. She maintains a 3.75 GPA in the classroom and is a member of the National Honor Society.
We know the work Alana is doing this early in her recruiting process will give her many options of schools to choose from in the future when she is looking to make her final decision.
