Personal Statement

I am a good teammate and a very hard worker athletically and academically. I would like to be part of a college softball team that shares my love for the sport, where every member of the team works their very hardest everyday both on and off the field, who works as hard in practice as in the game, and wants to compete at the highest level. I want to play for a coach who invests in me as a player and person and knows they will get every bit of their investment back, and more! I want to make amazing contributions to my team through solid hitting and defense. I want my coach and teammates to be confident I will make the play and trust that I will execute whatever job I am asked to do. I am a rising 9th grader but have played travel softball since I was 9 years old and Varsity High School Softball for the past 2 years. I have a high IQ for the game and am not afraid to get dirty or do whatever it takes to make the play. As a Middle Infielder on defense, it's important to be a leader and to communicate with both the infield and the outfield when needed. I am able to think and anticipate the next out or the next play. I always want more than one out if possible. On offense, I understand what I need to do with runners in scoring position. I am comfortable and confident in game-winning situations and typically bat either 4th or 5th in the line up and expected to have a high number of RBIs for my team. I've had several coaches tell me I am a very talented player but they say the best part is I am coachable. I will work very hard to be the best I can be on the field and in the classroom.
