Personal Statement
I thought about starting off my personal summary with the generic "I started playing softball when I was five years old." But since that seems to be a very mainstream statement that most senior softball players begin with, i'll start with something else. :) I have played three sports year round in high school. I played volleyball for six years, basketball for four years and softball for seven years. (in high school) . Playing these sports has probably been one of the most influential things i've done to shape me into a well rounded person. All of my sports overlapped at some point so I learned how to balance two sports, my job and schoolwork. It has taught me how to properly balance myself while maintaining high standards in each area of my life. Along with upholding my duties in each area of my life, I have been raised and held to the standards of high character on and off any sports field, classroom, my home, etc. I have been nominated for the Christian Character Award in our ACSC conference once in our volleyball season this year, and again in our basketball season. Only one senior from each team is nominated so it is a humbling experience to even be submitted. My goal in everything I do is to first and foremost glorify God, and secondly give it everything I have. I have been captain of the softball team for the past 3 years, captain of the volleyball team this year, and captain of the basketball team this year as well. I strive to be an encouraging and godly example for all of my teammates and peers. Now you may be wondering why I chose softball instead of the other two sports I have participated in. Softball was my first love and it began when I was five years old. There is something about the sport that captures my heart and a love for the game that I had only heard about and honestly don't know how to explain. I love it and I don't know know any other way to phrase it. I know that I will excel at the college the Lord has planned for me and that I will work hard on and off the field 100% as long as I play for you and your team. I hope you have enjoyed learning a little bit about me. Thank you for your time.
