Personal Statement
I'm a 5' 7" catcher from Anchorage, Alaska. I have started on the West Anchorage High School varsity softball team for 3 years and earned All-Conference team this season. In addition to softball, I have been a varsity swimmer for the West Anchorage High School swim and dive team for 4 years. I have also been in 4 years of Air Force Junior ROTC. I have a cumulative GPA of 2.8 and will graduate in the class of 2017.
I am looking for a college where I can find the right balance between academics and the field. Ideally my athletic environment would be one where I can make an impact on the team. Financial assistance is going to be very important to me in the college selection process as my family will have a great need.
It is my dream to play sports in college on a competitive level. I am the first to get on the field and the last to leave. I leave my mind open to many coaching styles and am always willing to continue to learn and heighten my abilities not only as an athlete but as a student as well.
The life of an athlete is very important to me but academics is just as equally important. My desired majors are in the fields of Athletic Training, EMT Paramedic and Engineering. Ideally, I would like to go to a college that offers exceptional academics in my desired fields of study.
