Though being a three year starting varsity squad pitcher, I have not yet experienced competition at the 'state' level along with my teammates. Each year has had its strengths and obstacles, but through these is where I have found the pitcher, and leader, that I am. These years of growth have made me realize that I never want to remain idle, but that I must continue to improve, and succeed, if I want to be a competitive player in the sport that I love. I have also come to love the idea of the 'team first' morale. No one player can ever 'win' or 'lose' the game for their team, rather, it is a team effort that EVERYONE has to buy into, in order to succeed. Besides this, it builds a family out of a team, not just a group of people playing the same game. It has given me hope and inspiration that the years to come will only get better.
Because softball has been one of the largest, and best parts of my life, I plan to attend college to play ball, and further my academics. I have always found being in the classroom and learning a pleasure, never a bother. This is probably why I am as driven and determined as I am. To get a degree and be able to compete in the 'job world' is very important to me, and pursuing a degree in Sports Management would be a dream come true. Having the opportunity to combine a job that I will have for the rest of my life, with my passion for the game, would leave me with a career that I will never regret.
