Personal Statement
My name is Tiffany Nicole Patterson and I currently play travel softball for So Cal Breakers IE as a 2017 catcher. My most important softball accomplishment to date was being nominated to the All-Academic Team as a freshman for my high school varsity team. I have been a starter on the varsity softball team at my high school since my freshmen year, first as an outfielder and then as a catcher my sophomore year.
I am a very positive and ambitious scholar athlete who understands that a person needs to work hard in the classroom as well as on the field. I currently maintain a 4.25 GPA and have five AP classes on my schedule for the first semester of my junior year at Centennial High School in Corona, CA. In preparation for college I was enrolled in the International Baccalaureate Program (MYP) for four years. My goal is to play softball at the collegiate level and major in nursing, biology, or kinesiology. This will provide the foundation for medical school and my career goal to become a Physician Assistant.
Education is extremely important to me as well as playing softball in college but so is my faith and giving back to the community. I have volunteered over 200 hours of service during my time in the IB Program and have been an active member in my church community. I believe my family has given me a solid foundation to build on; and I am looking for a college that will allow me to continue this journey, and achieve my career goals.
When choosing the college I would like to attend and be a part of, my eyes are wide open. Although I am from California and the West Coast is my home; it is more important that the college is a good fit, for both me and the school!!! If I can receive a good education and play softball with a collective group of scholar athletes – I will be very happy.
