Cassidy Thompson '11 Recruiting Profile

My name is Cassidy Thompson, I am a Senior at West Valley High School in Cottonwood, CA. This year I am also enrolled at Shasta Community College in Redding, CA through the College Connections Program. At this time I have accumulated 17 credits and have earned a 3.71 GPA. I am enrolled this coming semester for 11 more credits. I have been playing softball since I was five years old, and have been playing competitively, travel and school ball, for seven years. As far as my non high school involvement in softball, I haved played for West Cottonwood Junior High School (7th and 8th grade), Cottonwood Little League, Redding Recreation, and North Valley Rapids (Travel Ball).Physical stats, I am 5'4" and weigh 145 lbs. I am hardworking and dedicated. I am a team player who always encourages my teammates. I come home after my high school practices and spend an extra few hours working on drills or batting in order to keep improving my skills. I am not set on a certain region or type of school, I am open to options. The only criteria that I have is that the school has to offer the degree that I want to obtain; a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. This is the career path that I want to follow and I don't plan on diverging from that path. My dream has always been to play softball in college. I love the sport, and to be able to play it in college would be a dream come true. It has taught me many lessons that I have been able to incorporate into my life outside of sports. I want to be able to play at the highest level of competition that I can and will continue to work on improving my skills to make me a more rounded player. I have applied for scholarships, the FAFSA and will qualify for federal aid and grants, which will allow me a better chance of going to school and following my dream.
