Hi, I am Gabi Royston. I am a very hard-working softball player, who loves this sport. I love softball so much, that I travel an hour and half, one way, up to 4 times a week, for my team practices. My hitting and pitching coaches are also an hour drive from where I live. Therefore, I spend a lot of time studying in the car when I have school. I have to plan ahead for projects and papers that are due, while maintaining a 3.5 GPA and know this time management will help me when I am in college.
I also am a very good role player, knowing how important it is to keep a positive attitude on and off the field, even if I am not playing. I am always working to ensure my team has a good attitude every time we are on the field. I get along easily with others from all walks of life, and am considered very "coachable." In the past, my team voted me "most mentally tough," something I am very proud of as it is so important for this game and for a pitcher.
When I pitch, I love the inside. But, I also control pitches all around the plate, with lots of movement for a variety of pitches. I hope to play in college, and receive an undergraduate degree that will prepare me for a doctorate program in physical therapy. I want to help professional athletes recover from injuries to get back to playing their best. It has been a long-time dream of mine to play softball in college and I have had to work very hard and stay very disciplined to reach the level I am at.
