Personal Statement
As a child, I tried many different sports like soccer, cheerleading, dancing, and dirt bike riding. Due to the time I spent learning what I didn't like. I didn't start playing softball until I was 10 years old and from that moment on I knew that softball was the game I wanted to play. During the first year; I played softball I earned a spot on the All-Star team which boosted my confidence and reassured me that this game was right for me. I wanted to dedicate all of my time playing softball. I have dedicated most of my free time to becoming a better player both physically and mentally. I am an outfielder with speed and agility. I can think on my feet and am able to read the ball off of the bat. I recently started slapping and I love that I am adding a new skill to my game. I am working hard on my craft.
I know that academics are just as important to the success of a collegiate athlete. I am in AP/Honors classes and I maintain a high GPA. I am a positive influence to my peers and I am a good team-mate. I have participated in several different activities on campus as well, like Associative Student Body, decorating my school for school-wide fundraisers, and spirit week. I have done many hours of community service helping others. My science fair project won first place in the District Science Fair. My topic was softball related and I called it to lead or not to lead. The project focused on consistency with your dominant and non dominant hands and the probability of consistently hitting balls to a designated area.
Since I have begun playing, I have known that I want to play at a collegiate level. I want to earn my Bachelor's degree while playing collegiate softball. I am currently undecided on a major but am leaning towards the Medical Field. I am currently starting my first year of 18U Gold in travel ball. I am the lead off batter and LF starter for Minors gold 18U Gold - Lovelace. I will only get faster, stronger and more skilled. I am excited to see what my future holds and I hope you will be a part of it.
