Personal Statement
I am the player that brings everyone up when we're having a bad game, I am the player that makes sure no matter what is happening in the game that every teammate is cheering and being positive and not worrying about the mistake they made two at bats prior or two plays prior; I make sure they shake it off and I'm always there to let them know that I have their back and I'll pick them up in my next play or my next at bat. I am one of the most vocal players on the field, constantly reminding my team of the situations and the outs while also cheering on the pitcher and making sure that she knows that its our job to get the batters out and have her back when she gets the batters to put the ball in play. On days where I am struggling I am not afraid to pull my coach aside and ask if he/she sees anything I may be doing incorrectly that is causing me to struggle. I always have a positive attitude and I try to make sure that my positivity is contagious throughout my team. Softball is and always has been my passion from the very second I picked up a glove. My parents never had to force me to go to practices or games even when I was younger and I could have been out with my friends. This game is my escape and as soon as I step on the field everything outside of the game doesn't matter and I forget about any problems I may be dealing with that day or that week. I desire to continue playing this game at the college level because I would love to be able to use my abilities to open the doors to receiving my education while also playing the game I love and making all the time and money my parents spent on my softball career worthwhile.
