Personal Statement
~~My name is Julissa Malana; my friends and teammates all know me as "Juju". I am in the 2018 Graduating Class at Sheldon High School and play for the LTG (Love The Game) 18U Team in Northern California under my new coach, Korey Krueg. My prime positions are being silky smooth at 2nd Base and super fast with my Gold Glove in the Outfield, while playing the "Hot Corner" at 3rd. I work hard, both on and off the field, to improve my "game".
To have the opportunity to compete at the collegiate level would be a life changing experience. For eight solid years, softball has not only developed me as an athlete but it has also developed my own character to be stronger and more well-rounded. Although I work continuously on different aspects to improve my skills of the game, the classroom has always been my #1 priority that I have always strive to excel everyday. Currently, I have a 4.06 GPA with Honors/AP classes and I am also involved in the Engineering & Building Trades Academy at my high school. When it comes to my favorite subjects in school, my IMMEDIATE answer would be Math and Science so I am leaning towards the Engineering field due to how I look up to my dad as an Electrical Engineer and I just love to build things that can make a difference in our world. I want to succeed - in the classroom, on the dirt, and in life; I would love to continue playing at the collegiate level.
