Yeawa Asabi '16 Recruiting Profile

My name is Yeawa Asabi and on the field I am a non-stop talker. On the 3rd base, right field , or on the bench you'll always hear my voice. Ever since I was young baseball and softball where my heart and soul as I got older it stayed the same. Off the field, If I'm not doing homework or helping out around the house, I'm hitting off the Tee, in the batting cages or out taking ground balls with my dad (single parent of 4). My goals for school is to figure out how I can better my community and better the lives for others I'm still trying to decide what I would like to take in college, but for now I'm set on Social Science and Humanities . But I know that helping others in some way possible is my goal. Growing up, softball became more than a sport to me, it became and outlet, a stress reliever, and a sanctuary. Having to struggle with a parent who deals with a mental illness (mother)  and watching my dad struggle to keep a roof over our heads with four children, I realized that softball is more than just a passion its a tool to help me further my education.
